The CESS testnet v0.5.0 is launching today at 8am on August 9th UTC, demonstrating a smoother network with newly added modules and functions. After two iterations of the CESS testnet from v.0.4.0 to v0.4.4, the testing of each module has significantly improved.
- More miners continue to participate in the testnet.
- The test of the chain has been shown stable.
- Added more modules for testing.
- Optimized the setting to lower the threshold for miners to join the testnet.
Meanwhile, the miner reward program will adopt a new set of rules when CESS-v0.5.0 goes live, and the details are as follows:
Storage Miners:
All storage miners get 300 points total every day until the test ends. Then the final reward points are calculated based on the miner’s storage power and the test network’s total storage power. For instance, if a miner’s total storage power is 100G during the entire test period of 30 days in the CESS-v0.5.0 with 9000G storage power at the end. The reward points for this miner is 100 points.
300 * n days * (individual miner’s total storage power / total network storage power)
300 * 30 * ( 100G/9000G) = 100 points
Note: Each miner has to contribute at least 1G storage power to be qualified. Check the storage power for individual storage miners and the entire testnet here.
Consensus Miners:
The first 50 consensus miners who run successfully on CESS-v0.5.0 will get rewarded 1 point per day. This is on a first-come-first-served basis.
After the CESS mainnet goes live, rewards will be distributed at a ratio of 1:100 (i.e., 1 point is equivalent to 100 CESS tokens). Miner reward list will be posted daily. CESS reserves all the rights for the final explanation.
