
Weekly Highlights
1. Over 9 consensus nodes and 581 storage nodes have been successfully registered since the release of the CESS testnet v0.5.1 on Sep 6th, The effective storage space of the current testnet has exceeded 24.414 TiB.
2. Great development progress in consensus nodes, network, blockchain explorer, etc.
Project Development Details:
Consensus Node
- Fixed accountID type issue with VRF solver when retrieving random values from storage.
- Optimized the identification of validator nodes during transaction submission.
- Improved the credit score system of the R2S consensus mechanism.
Network
- Fixed the problem of querying and purchasing space commands on the cess-portal client.
- Realized the R2S consensus mechanism for validators to randomly generate blocks.
- Updated the storage client to adapt to the latest version of the CESS network interface.
Official Website
- Fixed the problem that the content cannot be updated when it has been published.
- Fixed the article titleless problem. There were many untitled articles in the draft list in the background, because the title did not get verified when the article was saved as a draft.
- Fixed the problem of inconsistent display of article titles in the front and back, due to an error in the publishing API.
Blockchain Explorer Substats
- Optimized the chain data synchronization and its efficiency.
- Passed a new round of proposal application for W3F Grant.
- Optimized JS file size to improve access speed.
- Optimized database fields, modified to store important fields only, and deleted fields that were not commonly used.
Others
- Added monitoring and early warning of the block production status in the blockchain network.
Testnet
Overview:
- The CESS V0.5.1 testnet was launched on Sep 6th. Storage nodes close to 600 as of the end of last week. More details on the blockchain explorer.
- The effective storage capacity of the entire network has exceeded 24 TiB.

Event:
The miner reward event for the CESS testnet continued as storage and consensus miners can earn points by participating. Points can be exchanged for CESS tokens when the mainnet launches. Click here for details.
Community Activities
- CESS participated in the Singapore TOKEN2049 conference that took place on Sep 28–29. As one of the exhibitors at the main venue and one of the Polkadot’s projects at their official booth on the morning of the 29th, CESS has interacted and built relationships with Web3 users, developers, and industry professionals from all over the world.
