Hi guys! We’re back with another edition of our monthly updates! As you may know last month was our one year anniversary since we started sharing our monthly updates! We have changed the format of these articles a little bit, so now we will be starting with some of the news regarding our community.

One of the most important events from the past month is that the Gear team participated in the Token2049 event in Singapore! We were very glad to be a part of such a significant event and to meet all of you who came over to see us at our booth (it was inside the Polkadot one) and we are looking forward to seeing you in the future!

Last month we held various meetups like the Gear Monthly Meetup in Mexico, and our first meetup in Nanjing, China where we discussed some of the Gear Protocol’s latest developments. We were also invited as speakers to the Crypto Wednesday Meetup in Mexico, meetup for the Dotsama community in Madrid and the Dotsama meetup in Mexico. These events turned out great and we are really looking forward to attending more!

We participated in several AMAs hosted by some amazing projects and communities including, CryptoSolution, Polkassembly, Crypto SpaceX, Todo de Cripto, Crypto Warrior, Crypto Panda, Crypto Investors Community, National Blockchain. Along with the AMAs our CEO and Founder Nikolay Volf participated in a live interview at the Huobi live-broadcast and talked about Gear and its innovative approach for smart contracts.

We also attended various events organized by PolkaWorld. Among them were two live-streams. At the first live-stream by PolkaWorld we discussed the Polkadot ecosystem, Web3 infrastructure and cross-chain assets, and at the second livestream hosted by PolkaWorld our Ecosystem Tech Lead for China gave a presentation on the Gear Protocol. He also shared our most recently accomplished milestones at the most recent Polkadot Community Call for Chinese Community!

Some other events that we participated in include the Rebase Workshop Dali and the 2022 Web3.0 Bootcamp Demo Day co-hosted by Parity Tech, the Web3 Foundation, Wanxiang Blockchain Labs and Newchain Base in Nanjing, China. We presented the Gear Protocol and its key technologies, as well as we provided a live demonstration about Gear smart contracts! We also participated in the roundtable based on the topic “What Web3 is talking about”.

Also, for the first time ever we held a Gear workshop in Nigeria and hosted another workshop in Mexico at UABC. For those who have never heard of our workshops, we host educational events around the world to provide baseline knowledge about Web 3.0, blockchain technology, Polkadot ecosystem and smart contract development on the Gear platform. If you are interested and want to hold a workshop in your country don’t hesitate to contact us! Keep in mind these are not the only educational events we are holding! The others are our quizzes, which are quite amusing and accessible at the same time. This month we held Gear Community Quiz for the English-speaking community in our official telegram channel and we also held another educational quiz for our Spanish speaking community in our telegram for our community from Spain and Latin America.

This month we announced the integration of Automata Network with the Gear Protocol. Automata is building a secure and decentralized future that protects user privacy using WASM infrastructure and if you want to learn details about it you can check this article!

September also hosted some important technical updates. Firstly, we introduced a user library to interact with a real node. We also introduced delayed messaging and waking, so now contracts can send scheduled messages and wakes, which means that any time-dependent logic becomes much easier and variable. Regarding our ecosystem tech updates — we introduced a claim storage feature. This is a smart contract that enables users to issue, modify, verify and check their claims.

We have more updates and important announcements to come, so don’t forget to check our social media or just head over to our website!
