September 27, 2022 — We are pleased to announce the integration of Automata Network with Gear Protocol!
Automata Network, a middleware service protocol protecting fairness and privacy in Web3, has deployed their 1RPC service on Gear’s Testnet. 1RPC enables dApps, wallets, and layer 1’s to mask sensitive user metadata when interacting with Gear nodes.
Each time a user launches their wallet, an excessive amount of identifying information is received by RPC providers. This exposure of sensitive metadata — such as IP address, device information or linkability between wallets — can often result in targeted attacks. A free, private RPC relay, 1RPC neither tracks nor stores users’ metadata with its shielded technical design. In fact, metadata is immediately discarded after requests have been relayed successfully.
1RPC also supports anti-phishing with community contributions to help identify and block requests from fraudulent websites, as well as preventing interactions with malicious smart contracts.
We’re excited to have Automata on the Gear platform to enable best-in-class privacy practices for the industry, and build a secure and decentralized future that protects user privacy. We also believe that this integration aligns with our vision of enabling more developers to build using WASM and Web3.
About Gear
Gear is a next-generation WebAssembly smart contract platform based on Substrate. This platform will make it easier than ever for developers to bridge the gap between Web 2.0 and Web3. Gear offers a “blockchain-as-a-service” platform. It will allow you to deploy smart contracts into the Substrate ecosystem in a matter of minutes and for a few pennies. No need to build your own blockchain or win a parachain slot.
Gear’s unique advantage is in the implementation of the Actor model within the Substrate framework. The Actor model enables asynchronous contract execution, persistent memory for immutable programs, and a minimal, intuitive, robust API interface. Persistent memory allows users to drop some of domain-specific features out of the development process, and just write regular programs, speeding up developer adoption.
Our vast amount of libraries and examples of smart contracts and dApps makes the integration or coding of new dApps easy and fast, like constructing from Lego blocks.

About Automata Network
Automata is a decentralized middleware service protocol protecting fairness and privacy in Web3. Designed to provide non-intrusive integration across multiple chains, its product kit includes the following:
- 1RPC | Private RPC relay that protects user privacy by preventing data collection, user tracking, and phishing attempts from other parties.
- 2FA Guru | Blockchain-based authentication solution that secures access to accounts and protects users with an active defense.
- NFTFair | Fair launch platform for NFT projects to engage with the community without metadata exploits or predatory sniping by attackers.
- AnyDAO | Equips decentralized communities with the confidence to make real-life decisions as Web3 evolves in real-time with cross-chain vote aggregation, multi-tier privacy, and zero-cost voting.
- XATA | Fair Liquidity Provisioning protocol that minimizes Maximal Extractable Value (MEV), with anti-front-running supported across multiple chains.
