Clover Partners with The Graph to Joinly Explore The Border of Cross-chain EVM

Clover Finance is excited to announce an official integration with The Graph, allowing the developer community to immediately start using the Graph-supported EVM-compatible Substrate-based chain within the Polkadot ecosystem.

This will allow growing developer communities of both platforms to interact with the first querying index of a Polkadot parachain candidate, supporting an expanding cross-chain ecosystem between Ethereum and Polkadot.

The Graph & Clover Integration

This integration will empower Clover’s ecosystem of developers to build with a truly decentralized tool and allow them to leverage The Graph’s strong network. Furthermore, it provides a solution to composability issues in blockchain by creating decentralized APIs that serve data from a number of different chains. The Graph aims to grow the overall Web3 development and help developers build truly decentralized interoperable applications.

The Graph and Clover communities share the goal of advancing the development of Web3 with multi-chain support at the forefront. Integrating the ability for developers to operate easily on different chains is a hugely important part of that mission. This is why Clover’s support for both EVM compatibility as well as substrate based development will be a great transition for familiar Solidity developers from the Graph developer community to deploy subgraphs, also called open APIs, with a Polkadot parachain candidate.

By minimizing the changes required to run existing Solidity smart contracts on the new network, Ethereum projects can simply replicate their dApp and deploy it to Clover using MetaMask, Truffle, Remix, and other familiar developer tools.

Additionally, with the upcoming reserved slot for Clover on Rococo (Polkadot’s native Parachain testnet), The Graph will also enable Clover to build a subgraph for this as well. The developer community will be able to have a subgraph with the Polkadot testnet with both EVM compatible and Substrate based development environments.

This will support developers in building powerful applications on Clover using The Graph, as well as enable developers from all supported ecosystems to explore querying subgraphs.

“Well transformed, organized, and shared data, powerful GraphQL data query APIs can not only reduce significant engineering and hardware resources, but also provide great security for decentralization. The collaboration between The Graph and Clover will build open networks to the Clover community, and we are looking forward to working closely on cross chain integrations and a seamless multi-chain ecosystem” said Viven, Clover network Tech leader.

As a developer on Clover, you can learn how to deploy a subgraph using this demo and these documents. Subgraph creators are also eligible for grants from The Graph Foundation, apply here.

About The Graph

The Graph is the indexing and query layer of the decentralized web. Developers build and publish open APIs, called subgraphs, that applications can query using GraphQL. The Graph currently supports indexing data from Ethereum, IPFS, and PoA with more networks coming soon. To date, over 9,000 subgraphs have been deployed by over 14,000 active developers for applications, such as Uniswap, Synthetix, Aragon, Gnosis, Balancer, Livepeer, DAOstack, AAVE, Decentraland, and many others.

If you are a developer building an application or Web3 application, you can use subgraphs for indexing and querying data from blockchains. The Graph allows applications to efficiently and performantly present data in a UI and allows other developers to use your subgraph too! You can deploy a subgraph or query existing subgraphs that are in the Graph Explorer. The Graph would love to welcome you to be Indexers, Curators and/or Delegators on The Graph’s mainnet. Join The Graph community by introducing yourself in The Graph Discord for technical discussions, join The Graph’s Telegram chat, or follow The Graph on Twitter! The Graph’s developers and members of the community are always eager to chat with you, and The Graph ecosystem has a growing community of developers who support each other.

About Clover

Clover is a substrate based smart contract platform built for Polkadot, with added support for Ethereum developers to participate in the Polkadot ecosystem. This will especially help existing DeFi projects on any EVM based blockchain to seamlessly port over their smart contracts onto a Polkadot infrastructure.

A few of the main pillars of the clover smart contract platform are interoperability, cross chain integrations, and a seamless multi-chain defi user experience. The set of products that Clover is starting to release reflects this interoperable and cross chain vision as the future of Web3, from the Clover extension wallet, to Cloverscan, to the underlying 2-way peg technology between Ethereum and Polkadot, and eventually support for non-Turing complete blockchains like Bitcoin.
