Covalent, the leading provider of indexing solutions for blockchains, has integrated with the Astar ecosystem, expanding the availability of data on the platform and simplifying the experience for developers who need reliable, high-quality data.
Covalent provides a unified API to bring full transparency and visibility to assets across all blockchain networks. Its dataset supports 25B+ transactions, 30,000+ price feeds, and 200,000+ smart contracts for querying.
How Covalent works:
Covalent is an ELT data pipeline that ingests all on-chain data which comes from blockchains. This can save developers hundreds of hours of development per year where they can focus on shipping products as opposed to building or maintaining their own data infrastructure.
Covalent received a grant to provide indexing solutions on Dusty, Shiden Network, and Astar Network through the Astar builders program. Shiden Network became the third parachain on Kusama to provide the Kusama ecosystem with the dApp platform for developers. Shiden Network provides EVM, WASM, and layer 2 solutions with a unique incentives mechanism (dApp staking) for developers who build on Shiden.
Through this integration, the Astar ecosystem expands the availability of data on the platform and simplifies the experience for developers who need reliable, high-quality data. Using the Covalent API, developers can pull Dusty, Shiden, and in the future Astar mainnet data. You can access the network via the unified API by changing the chainId parameter. What are the deliverables with this grant?
Deliverables:
- Index our public blockchains (Dusty, Shiden, and Astar) and exposing all Type A endpoints.
- Dedicated to Aster Reference page for developers, eg. Polygon page 2.
- Make users of grantee’s API aware of the data availability of partner’s blockchain data.
- Partner to add Covalent to all developer documentation, and include Covalent in marketing collateral.
Optional:
- Conduct a joint hackathon titled 1 Million Wallets Shiden edition.
- 6 joint marketing or promotional activities per calendar year to mutually educate the Covalent community and Astar community (Post- Integration).
- Right of first refusal for hackathons or event sponsorship.
This seamless experience significantly enhances the Astar ecosystem developer experience.
About Covalent
Covalent leverages big-data technologies to create meaning from hundreds of billions of data points, delivering actionable insights to investors and allowing developers to allocate resources to higher-utility goals within their organization. Instead of pain-stakingly sourcing data from a small handful of chains, Covalent aggregates information from across dozens of sources including nodes, chains and data feeds. The Covalent API then sources end users with individualized data by wallet, including current and historical investment performance across all types of digital assets. Most importantly, Covalent returns this data in a rapid and consistent manner, incorporating all relevant data within one API interface.
