Today, we are very excited to announce that we officially enable token transfers on Shiden Network. This update allows token holders to transfer SDN tokens. Also, Shiden will implement the smart contract features soon so that developers can deploy both Ethereum smart contracts (EVM) and WASM smart contracts on Shiden Network.
So far, we have completed the phase 2-1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6. Phase 2-7 and phase 2–8 shouldn’t take much time, and we will complete them in the upcoming weeks. The most important phase for us is phase 2–9, enabling dApp staking.
The dApp staking is our unique feature that only Shiden and Astar network support in the Polkadot and Kusama ecosystem. In general, people underestimate the potential of things they have never seen before. However, we believe that once this feature is implemented, the expansion of the ecosystem will surely accelerate.
In addition to that, we will officially launch Astar Network Portal once it is fully ready.
The last thing I would like to mention is the Builders Program and Community Program.
Builders Program
We are always focused on the community and product development, so we have similarly designed the program — we are interested in high-quality teams building infrastructure/integrations to help our developers and applications that the community wants. This can be broadly split into 2 different tracks, the infrastructure track, and the application track.

Community Program
Astar is a community-driven project, and we would be grateful if you could help grow our ecosystem. We have created an open community program where every community member can join and support the Astar ecosystem. You can collect points and receive rewards through dApp staking if your contributions are valid. Joining the community program as a community member is also the perfect way to show us that you are the Ambassador we need for the Astar ecosystem. It’s also the ideal way to educate yourself about Astar and the Polkadot ecosystem.
The community program consists out of two tracks:
- Community rewards: help the growth of the Astar ecosystem and get rewarded for your contributions.
- Ambassador program: become an official Ambassador for the Astar ecosystem.
We will strategically focus on these programs in September to expand our ecosystem.
