Altair to continue as home for cutting-edge technology development for the Centrifuge app
Altair has successfully secured a parachain slot on Kusama, which will be used to ensure Altair continues to operate as a parachain past its current lease. The Centrifuge Network Foundation self-funded this slot extension. This decision allows existing AIR reserves to be directed to building Altair and preparing pools and supporting developer initiatives.

To ensure its place as a parachain, Altair proactively bid and won the 46th Kusama Auction as a parathread during the 23–30 lease period. The auction began at block #13708800, which resulted in Slot #46 secured through 16 July 2023 for Altair .
Candle auctions are unpredictable, and we’re all energized by the amazing luck we had in this round. Altair won the auction via VRF — the candle blew out at Jul 27, 17:04:24 (this is a randomly selected block after the auction ends).
Since launching at the beginning of October 2021, Altair has been building essential functionality as the experimental testnet for Centrifuge and as the Real-World Asset (RWA) financing playground for the Kusama ecosystem.
The unlocking of KSM will happen automatically on the 2022–08–08 in case a contributor participated with a direct contribution (via the crowdloan module).
