Write Deploy & Interact with Ink! Smart-contracts — Workshop

Summary
Developers choose to code in solidity because of the lack of tools and documentation available for building WASM smart contracts. This is why Astar is developing a new tool called Swanky–to simplify the contract development process. In this workshop we will explore how to write a WASM smart contract in ink!, deploy it on substrate-nodes and testnet (Shibuya), and interact with the smart contract–using Parity tools and Swanky CLI tool.
Outline
-Part 1-
You will learn how to build–deploy & interact with a smart contract using Parity tools.
-Part 2-
You will learn how to build — deploy & interact using Swanky–a CLI tool.
What will be covered?
We will do all the following, with simple commands using Swanky CLI tool:
- Use ink! smart-contracts template (PSP22)
- Build contracts using cargo contracts CLI
- Usage of substrate-contract-node as local dev node
- Deploy & interact with contracts with Polkadot JS UI
- Deploy contract on Shibuya testnet

About Astar
Astar Network is the Smart Contract Hub for WASM + EVM built on Polkadot and is one of the top Parachains in the Polkadot ecosystem in Total Value Locked and most Ethereum assets transferred over. Astar Network is the leading smart contract hub that connects the Polkadot ecosystem to Ethereum, Cosmos, and all major Layer 1 Blockchains. Astar Network supports dApps using multiple virtual machines — namely WASM and EVM — and offers the best technology solutions and financial incentives via its Build2Earn and Astar Incubation Program for Web3 developers to build on top of a secure, scalable, and interoperable blockchain.
