05/17/2022 — On May 4th Polkadot released XCM a “Cross-Consensus Messaging” format allowing communication between the network’s various parachains. This was a major release for the entire Polkadot ecosystem. This release opens a world of possibilities for what is now possible to build on Polkadot.
With this release we are extremely excited to share with you DOT Festival! Behind the scenes we have been hard at work preparing this event and now it is almost here!
Over the coming weeks we will have a series of announcements that are all a part of DOT Festival. We aren’t able to share all of the details yet, but what we can share with you is that this event is about utilizing Polkadots XCM release and to showcase what is now possible to build on Astar!
DOT Festival will be rolling out over the coming weeks. We are working with some of the major DeFi protocols being built on Astar & Shiden to deliver some very exciting opportunities to earn more than staking on Validators and have your DOT work for you on Astar! This is all made possible by the release of XCM and we are thrilled to be able to bring this opportunity to the Astar community!
So what do you need to do to be ready and capitalize on this opportunity?
Start unbonding your DOT now. Unbonding DOT takes 28 days so make sure you start now! To participate you will need unbonded and transferable DOT. Once your DOT is unbonded and you are able to withdraw it, turn on notifications for our social medias and be prepared for our announcements!
