April 19, 2022–We are in full #AstarSeason swing the way the rest of April and next month are shaping out to be, we might as well call it #AstarNFTSeason. Why is that?
To begin with, Astar is attracting a plethora of NFT projects to its public blockchain. After winning the third Polkadot Parachain auction slot and going live in early 2022, Astar quickly became the leader of the pack in terms of Total Value Locked (TVL). The mind-boggling TVL is attributable to a number of factors, chiefly among those was the incubation and subsequent launch of two notable DeFi projects, namely, Starlay and Arthswap.
Moreover, Astar features low transaction costs and is aiming to be interoperable with all other major Layer 1 blockchains. It has already created cross-chain bridges with Ethereum, BNB Chain, and Polygon. Cross-chain bridges enable the seamless transfer of data and assets between blockchains. Without bridges, blockchains would not be able to communicate with each other. As a result, bridges are a crucial component for creating an internet of blockchains.
Furthermore, Astar recently launched its #Build2Earn initiative as a way to promote dapp staking. Dapp staking is instrumental to Astar’s future success as it is the mechanism that makes it possible for dapp developers to earn a basic income from staking rewards.
Consequently, NFT projects are taking notice of these developments, and are viewing Astar as a natural ecosystem from which to either initiate or extend their endeavors. Below are some of the notable NFT projects that will be coming to Astar.
NFT Pitch Contest
In light of this wave of NFT projects that are coming to Astar–and as a way to demonstrate our commitment to NFT projects developing on Astar–we are excited to announce our very first NFT Pitch Contest!
How do projects Participate in the Astar NFT Pitch Contest?
To partake in the contest, participants must submit a maximum 2-minute pitch in video format explaining their NFT projects and include the following:
- Link to the website
- Scheduled launch date
- The video should be uploaded to YouTube
The winner of the contest will receive a prize of $4,000 USD worth of $ASTR and the video that receives the most views will receive a prize of $1,000 USD worth of $ASTR.
Please note that only projects that are in pre-mint status or projects that have not reached their full minting capacity should be submitted. Projects that have already sold out or that are fully minted should not apply for this contest.
The Astar community along with core members from Astar Network and tofuNFT will decide on the winner.
The submission period is from April 25, 2022, to April 30, 2022.
