Astar Portal - Astar & Shiden Network
Summary
Astar Portal is your one-stop hub where you can find all Astar applications and use all tokens including ERC20 tokens, Polkadot Parachain tokens, and Cosmos tokens. You can check all of your available tokens on Astar Network. Not only that, you can see your balances and transfer tokens just like below.
Wallets
Astar is a multi-virtual machine smart contract platform, meaning that we support both WASM and EVM smart contracts. In terms of wallets, we’re supporting Polkadot.js, Metamask, and other Polkadot wallets. Currently, we’re developing a tool that will allow you to use both Polkadot and Ethereum addresses seamlessly. With this tool, you’ll be able to stake your ASTR tokens directly from Metamask. Be sure to look out for this in the coming days!
Dashboard
The second page I would like to introduce is the Dashboard page. We conducted a lot of user interviews, and now understand that our users want to know basic information like current circulating supply, total supply, TVL, and total transactions. We know you want to see Astar’s growth in a clear visual way, and with the Dashboard, you now have this at your fingertips.
Bridge
Third on the list is the Bridge page. This bridge is powered by Celer’s cBridge and it’s how we connect to all major Layer 1 blockchains. The default destination is Astar and with this bridge, you can transfer assets from Ethereum, Polygon, and BNB Chain.
What’s Next?
The most important and exciting update we have is the Staking page where you can stake ASTR on dApps. Think of it as the “Apple Store” for blockchains.
dApp Staking
On our Staking page, you will find all types of dApps listed, and as an ASTR token holder, you can stake ASTR on the dApps that you want to support. By doing so, you can earn staking rewards while simultaneously supporting the developers that are building the dApps.
I want to stress that the most important feature in the portal is dApp staking. This feature allows developers to earn a basic income while making their dApps. The more dApps are created, the more ASTR tokens will be staked, which will reduce the circulating supply. This market dynamic creates a positive feedback loop in our ecosystem and because of it, we will be able to distribute more value to our ecosystem members through staking rewards and dApp rewards.
As a dApp staker, you will be contributing to a virtuous cycle, which will help improve our ecosystem and bring long-term intrinsic value to your tokens. To get a visual representation of how this works, check out the diagram below.
Keep in mind that we’re going to have dynamic inflation. Our maximum inflation is 10% and we are going to increase the inflation gradually based on the number of dApps that are out there so that a single dApp doesn’t get a disproportionate amount of rewards — and so that we can have a fair ecosystem both for investors and developers.
