V for Vendetta is a story of liberation, democracy, love, anti-totalitarian, and ideological emancipation. It enlightened people not only with stunning imageries — dystopian talks, the explosion of House of Parliament, numerous Guy Fawkes masks, chic roses, Tchaikovsky, over 22,000 dominos — but also educated us with the power of “masks”: one can only stand out and speak for his true will with a “mask” on.
♂️ Background: Why it’s called, “Vendetta 1605”
In Phala’s vision, the worldwide connection between all types of devices shall be the weapon against the centralists and monopolies who occupied the Web2.0 world. We shall “mask” the network and cage the powers, with blockchain and confidential computing.
The most important step in this revolution is to inaugurate a hall to welcome and gather people of the same vision and build a bridge of liberated confidential computing power.
1605 Race V1 concluded at the beginning of 2021 with the successful launch of Testnet Vendetta. This stress-test phase validated Phala Network’s ability to accommodate a large number of workers joining the network and dedicating their cores to computation tasks (peaking at 1,357 workers and nearly 5,000 cores).
And the following Phala testnet Vendetta 1605 Race V2 ended at Block #1,304,000 on March 5. Over the past 4 weeks, thanks to the participation of all our passionate, Phala completed much of the planned stress-testing of the computing task module for the PoC3 stage.
Finally, End-game literally means — the end of testnet and canary phases. and Phala Network is moving on to the next tokenomics design as published in our wiki since the beginning of our project.
️ Registration/Due Date
- Gleam registration is open now. So current worker-nodes can stop one of your worker-nodes (takes you 7 days CD period) to register in this event, OR it takes at least 7–14 days if you want to sync a designated worker-node for this event.
- Uptime timer will start from March 7th, and you can check your uptime-rate on Phala App. (There’s no specific time announced yet.)
- End-game ends on April 28th at 00:59 UTC.

Game Rules x Point System
- You need to hold some $PHA tokens (around 50 tokens would be enough) to pay the transaction fee for any on-chain activities throughout this setup-guide: here is a list of exchanges where you can get $PHA token.
- Complete all mandatory entrances from gleam registration process, but if you don’t have a substrate address, MAKE SURE TO get one BEFORE REGISTRATION.
- You may start a Phala worker-node by following this official tutorial.
- You need to create a StakePool (PID), check out this guide.
- You also need to set an on-chain identity for your Khala account.
- To support fair outcomes, the PID must be newly created from Phala App, and only ONE worker-node should be added in each pool, which must be the same worker-node that was registered at gleam.
7. Your final total score will be assessed based on the following criteria:
- (10 Points) Gleam: Mandatory entrance points to start mining.
- (60 Points) Up-time: If your worker-node remains on-line throughout the campaign, you get 60 points. (uptime rate x 60 = worker’s final score)
- (30 Points) Contribution Surveys: There are two surveys at the end of event. In each survey, there are three places where you can write down your contribution links. Each answer will be given maximum 5 points.
- You are recommended to submit three types of contribution in order to get higher score: (1) monitoring/utility-tools for maintenance shared at Phala Forum by tagging #end-game, (2) bug-bounty issued on our Phala Github, (3) Video/Setup guide shared as a member of Phala Ambassador Program.
