Happy New Year from myself and the team here at Zeitgeist. Most of us took some time off over the holidays, but we're easing back into things this week, and we have a bunch to be excited about.
At the end of last year, we attained a parachain slot on Kusama with a blow-out win during the parachain auctions. This was thanks to the community who really showed its strength during our crowdloan. As Zeitgeist is a decentralized network with on-chain governance and futarchy, the community involvement will be crucial over the next stages of the project.
For Q1, the team's focus will be on security, and the launch of the project itself. The onboarding of our parachain starts on January 9th, but will be a phased rollout that will slowly unlock functionality while transitioning the chain from centralized control (sudo key) to being governed in a decentralized manner. Once this rollout is complete, we will complete all ZTG allocations, and governance will enable transferability of the token ("TTE" - token transferability event). This would mark the completed deployment of Zeitgeist.
In parallel, we're working on further App improvements and integration with our SubSquid infrastructure. We're paying attention to the feedback we received during the Beta campaign, specifically around the loading times, and we think that the work we're doing now will resolve the major issues there and will also position the App to scale over the growth of the network over the next year.
We are aiming to launch the App immediately following TTE during our rollout. This would also include us open-sourcing the codebase for the App (most of our other code is already open-sourced) to allow for community contributions and audits.
We will have some additional materials published in the next fortnight that will help track our rollout along with new milestones for the year ahead, including an itemized roadmap of tasks - and more immediately, the anticipated ZTG rewards from the crowdloan including the bonus modifiers.
